Genshin Impact Funko Pop Guide

Genshin Impact Funko Pop Guide

Funko Pops have had an enormous impact on pop culture, with just about every popular franchise under the sun getting its own line of big-headed collectibles.

With Genshin Impact also taking the world by storm in its two years of existence, it was only a matter of time before we would see our favorite gatcha pulls turned into the oh-so collectible Funko Pops.

Though I’ve had the most challenging time getting a hold of these darn Funko Pops (more on that in a second), I want to bring to you a comprehensive Genshin Impact Funko Pop guide that are currently available and those that are up and coming, as well as some hopes for future Funko releases.

Bottom Line Up Front

As of writing this, three Genshin Impact Funko Pops are available for preorders, Lumine, Aether, and Paimon. In the official announcement of the Genshin Impact Funko Pops, Keqing, Diluc, and a Hilichurl were also teased, though these still need to be made available for purchase.

If you’re looking for just one Funko Pop to start your collection, go for the Lumine Funko Pop. The detail in the design of the figure, as well as the base, adds a really lovely touch that isn’t often seen on Funko Pop figures.

It also means that you won’t have to worry about the figure standing correctly. For just under $14, this figure is an excellent and inexpensive start to any Genshin Impact merch collection.

Selection Criteria

Though this may seem obvious, it’s still important to note that I’m only going to be covering the official Genshin Impact Funko Pop crossover here, so there will be no fan-made Funko Pops on this list.

Though there aren’t too many Funko Pops shown that are either available for preorder now or in the future, we can be pretty sure that due to the success of Genshin Impact as a whole that more Pop Figures will be made.

Preorder Nightmare

Before I get into the nitty-gritty with these Genshin Impact Funko Pops, it needs to be said that right now, these figures are only available for preorders outside of Asia. I have seen people being able to purchase these figures at conventions, though these seem few and far between, so it is possible that you’ll be able to find some on second-hand sites like eBay.

I preordered all of the available Genshin Impact Funko Pops back in May this year, and I’m still waiting for an actual release date that doesn’t keep getting pushed backward.

If you’re concerned about availability upon the official release, then definitely don’t be afraid to preorder them. Still, I’ll be the first to admit that the constant delays from the intended August release date have been incredibly irritating.

With that said, those who have managed to get a hold of the Funko Pops cannot fault their quality, and from the promotional art we’ve seen, these Pop Figures look really impressive. Complaints about preordering aside, let’s get into the Funko Pops themselves.

Lumine

lumine

First of all, let’s take a look at my personal favorite of the set, Lumine. I chose Lumine as my playable twin in the game, and I love seeing her represented in official merch.

As any Lumine fan knows, she’s often left out of a lot of promotional art as she isn’t the “canon” protagonist of Genshin Impact, so it’s nice to see her get some love as a Funko Pop.

The figure is the standard Funko Pop size and looks very well cast, but what really stands out to me is the base. It’s not very common that Funko Pops are given bases, Often being left to stand on their own, which usually leads to using Blu Tac on their feet just so they stop falling over when you even think about a light breeze.

Lumines base looks like the flowery fields of Mondstadt, with the same lilies in her hair featuring on the ground. It’s so uniquely detailed and pretty for a Funko Pop.

Although we cannot see any obvious elemental resonance on both the Lumine and Aether Funko Pops, the base implies to me that this could be an Anemo-infused Lumine (though, of course, this is entirely up to you.)

As well as the base, Lumine is in a unique pose, which basically means she isn’t just standing there doing nothing. Her little half cape is flourishing to one side following her arm, and with her heel raised, it looks like she’s just finished fighting some poor slime or hilichurl.

It’s still a pretty basic pose, but it’s dynamic enough to be unique, so it will stand out on your shelves.

Lumine has also been given her signature Silver Sword that she can be seen holding in most of the cutscenes and promotional art she’s featured in. This is such a nice attention to detail which really sets these Funko Pops above and beyond the rest.

Pros

  • Comes with a unique base to help your Funko Pop Stand
  • This is incredibly detailed for a Funko Pop

Cons

  • No obvious resonance with any element, which would have been an excellent addition

Aether

aether

Of course, Genshin Impacts’ poster boy had to be made into a Funko Pop, and if the promotional art is anything to go by, Funko has done a bang-up job of bringing the golden child of Teyvat to life.

The Funko Pop is surprisingly detailed as for as Funko Pops go, with great care taken regarding Aether’s outfit, all the way down to his shiny shoes!

Like Lumine, Aether is wielding the traveler’s signature Silver Sword and is featured on a custom base to help him stand. This time the base appears to be rocky, with some stone spikes sticking out of the back behind Aether.

Although we don’t see any obvious elemental resonance, the rocky theme suggests that this Aether is resonated with Geo, which I love as I think that Geo resonance suits Aether the most.

Pros

  • The shiny parts of Aether really stand out here
  • I love the addition of the sword
  • The fact that it looks like Aether is mid elemental skill is a nice touch

Cons

  • Again, the lack of obvious elemental resonance is a little disappointing
  • The rock base looks less detailed than Lumines grassy base

Paimon

paimon

Last and most certainly not least, everyone’s favorite emergency food gets a Funko Pop all her own. The detailing on Paimons Funko Pop is fantastic, and I love the shine on her crown, and other rose gold accessories.

Though I personally prefer both the Aether and Lumine Pops to Paimons, I can’t deny that they nailed Paimon’s design when making this.

As seems to be the trend with the Genshin Impact Funko Pops, Paimon gets a custom base. While Aether and Lumines base is there for style points (and maybe a little bit of practicality), Paimon’s base is there to give the illusion that she is flying.

After all, we haven’t seen Paimon stand in-game at all, and starting now would just feel weird. Though I love the intention behind the base stand, I’m really not fond of its design.

It’s a blue swirl that supports Paimon, and I think simply changing the blue to a clear plastic would have worked much better, but that being said, I still really enjoy the effect it gives.

Pros

  • The fact that Paimon is floating is really nice
  • Paimons eyes appear to be more of a blue tone in the promotional image as opposed to the usual black, which really makes her stand out

Cons

  • I personally think that the blue base is offputting and that a clear plastic base would have been nicer

Upcoming Genshin Impact Funko Pops

Though these Funko Pops aren’t yet available for us to buy, HoyoVerse teased three more characters for future Funko Pop releases, and at first glance, all of them look amazing!

Diluc

diluc

Diluc’s Funko pop looks fantastic, he has a stern look on his face that most people find synonymous with Diluc, and it’s nice to see a deviation from Funko’s usual blank stare. Diluc is also standing in his signature “too cool for school” crossed-arms position, and it’s really serving Darknight Hero.

As seems to be customary with the Genshin Impact Funko Pops, Diluc gets a custom base plate to help him stand. He is surrounded by flames, and I must say it does look very imposing, at least as imposing as a Funko Pop can be.

Right now, it’s unclear whether this flame base is going to be used for every Pyro character or just for Diluc, but considering how neutral it is, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw this particular base return on any future Pyro character Funko Pops.

Pros

  • Diluc’s facial expression and pose help make him look stern and imposing
  • The Firey base becoming more transparent the higher it goes is a really nice touch

Cons

  • It would have been nice to have seen Diluc’s falcon make an appearance

Keqing

keqing figure

Keqing is another fantastic addition to this lineup that we will hopefully not have to wait too long to see on the shelves. Though the promotional image is fairly small and so it’s harder to decipher the finer details, to me, it looks like she’s holding a blade and is poised and ready to attack.

I really enjoy that all of the Genshin Impact Funko Pops we’ve seen so far have unique positions and bases, as it makes them stand out on your shelves, and Keqing is no different.

Keqing stands on a purple spikey base, which reminds me of her elemental burst in a roundabout way. Much like with Diluc, I can see this base being recycled for any future Electro characters, and while I’m not upset about this, it would be nice to see a unique base for every character.

Pros

  • Keqing is in a really unique position
  • Though it’s a little hard to tell, it appears that she is holding a sword

Cons

  • As of right now, there is no speculated release date for this Funko Pop

Hilichurl

hilichurl

I think it was an interesting choice to make a Funko Pop of one of the most common enemies in Genshin Impact before tackling fan favorites like Xiao or even any of the Archons, yet here we are with a surprisingly very nice-looking Hilichurl Funko Pop.

Holding a cloud and a wooden shield, this Hilichurl looks like it’s running at you full force, and though Hilichurls aren’t the most complex of enemies design-wise, I think it’s really nice that a Funko Pop can do them justice.

As Hilichurls don’t have human-like faces and instead wear masks, these Funko Pops deviate from the regular formula of square heads and round blobs for eyes. This kind of makes it look like a proper Hilichurl figure and not one designed by Funko, which actually makes it stand out even more as a stand-alone figure.

The hilichurl is also on a grassy field-like base, but this one is different from Lumines. This may end up being a “generic” base for future Genshin Impact Funko Pops, but it really works well for the Hilichurl.

Pros

  • Given that Hilichurls wear masks, this Funko Pop looks the least like a Funko Pop, making it stand out from the crowd
  • The fact that it’s holding a club and wooden shield helps to give it some more character

Cons

  • I think that there were more interesting characters they could have made into Funko Pops before a Hilichurl, but this could be nice for building scenes for displays.

Genshin Impact Funko Pops We’d Love to See

With so few Genshin Funko Pops to choose from right now, and knowing that more are on the horizon, I thought it would be fun to give you my speculations on which Genshin characters are going to get the Funko treatment next, as well as a few characters I’d just love to see and collect for myself.

The Archons

the archons genshin impact

I know that technically this is four different characters, but let’s face it, Venti, Zhongli, The Raiden Shogun, and Nahida are all characters that rightfully deserve to have Funko Pops made of them. The Archons are the pinnacle of power in Genshin, and seeing them turned into adorable little collectibles would just be the cherry on the cake.

I think it would be easy enough to have the archons in their elemental burst poses, which would do a fantastic job of making them look imposing and like they deserve the title of Archon. When the Archons are eventually made into Pop Figures, you can guarantee that I’ll be first in line to get them.

Klee

klee

Klee is a fan favorite, and it’s not difficult to see why. Arguably one of the cutest characters in Genshin Impact, I think Klee would translate into a Funko Pop pretty well.

If Funko wants some serious bonus points, all they’d have to do is to make Klee throw some bombs around in her pose, and they will have captured both her cuteness and her personality perfectly.

Itto

itto

This one is totally a self-indulgent pick, but who can deny that Itto would look amazing as an oversized Funko Pop? A giant Oni as a giant Funko Pop just makes sense to me, and Itto’s amazing design would be amazing to see Funko-fied. Now put Itto in his elemental burst pose with his club, and that would be one amazing Funko Pop.

In an ideal world, and I think I speak for everyone when I say this, this hypothetical oversized Itto Pop Figure would come with a tiny little Ushi to truly complete the look. I’ll be waiting, Funko.

Xiao

xiao

If I’m allowed a self-indulgent pick, then it’s only fair that I give the Xiao stans their fair dues. Xiao is an awesome character with an awesome design, and I think he could make an amazing Funko pop.

Give his pop figure some angry eyebrows and have him holding his mask in his hand, and I think we would be well on the road to pleasing the Xiao army.

I also know that Xiao has a 1/7 PVC figure available for preorders, but at over 300 dollars, a Funko Pop would make a much more affordable alternative for one of Genshin Impacts’ most popular Anemo boys.

Scaramouche/The Wanderer

scaramouche - the wanderer

Though Scaramouche is one of the most recently available playable characters in Genshin Impact, the impact he’s had on the fandom has been immense.

With almost two years of teasing from HoyoVerse, Scaramouche has amassed a huge amount of fans, and though this is already a fantastic recipe for a successful Funko Pop, I mostly just want to see Funko take a stab at replicating Scaramouche’s hat.

Scaramouche himself is quite a cheeky and imposing character, so I think there’s a lot to be done with him design-wise, and it would be awesome to see some merch for one of Genshin Impacts’ most anticipated characters.

FAQs

Question: When will My Funk Pop Preorder Arrive?

Answer: Unfortunately, I can’t help you there. It will largely depend on where you ordered your Pop Figures from and the stock availability. I pre-ordered my Pop Figures from the official Funko Pop site in May 2022, and the most recent update I have received is telling me that the estimated shipping date is now January 2023.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the luck of the draw as to whether you receive your Funko in a timely manner.

Question: Will the Character Bases be Recycled?

Answer: Right now, every Genshin Impact Funko Pop has a unique base, so we simply don’t know if these bases will appear on other characters in the future. I think it is likely due to the fact that they are relatively generic bases, especially on characters like Diluc and Keqing, where the bases largely represent their vision element.

That being said, until we see some more Pop Figures with overlapping elements, we won’t know for sure.

Question: Are any of these Funko Pops Rare?

Answer: Depending on where you live, these Funko Pops may not even be available to you, but I wouldn’t say that they are rare. Funko is still producing stock for these Pops even if it is taking an incredibly long time, and we know that we will be getting more launches in the future, so no, these Pop Figures are not necessarily rare.

Conclusion

Though the Genshin Impact Funko pops available to us right now are limited, they all look absolutely incredible, and with more on the way soon enough, we will be able to build our own competitive builds purely out of Pop Figures.

The unique poses and bases that are featured on every Genshin Impact Funko Pop show that a lot of love and care has gone into this collaboration, and I, like many others, am deeply looking forward to seeing which characters get chosen for the Funko treatment in the future.
