Genshin Impact Polearm Guide

Genshin Impact is an RPG set in an open-world fantasy. Breathtaking environments laced with beautiful cities and towns keep you exploring the landscape for more. You will start smack dab in the middle of a story where you must find your kidnapped sibling and fight to get them back. You will want the full array of available characters to join your team. So spin your hat backward, and let’s go!

In today’s Genshin Impact Polearm guide, I will help you reach your goals by telling you about weapons and their advantages. I will explain how to upgrade your weapons to increase your chances of becoming a powerhouse! We will focus on polearm weapons and go over their benefits, how to get one, and different types.

Who needs a trainer and a gym when you have me, right?!

Weapons

Weapons are one of the cornerstones of Genshin Impact and enhance your character’s attack power and elemental power. Putting steel and elements to an enemy’s head is always a good time. The great thing about Genshin Impact is that the weapons are as versatile as the characters. The five types of weapons are Polearms, Swords, Bows, Claymore, and Catalysts.

  • Polearms are the weapon you want when you need speed and reach. You will find that characters like Xiao, Raden Shogun, Xiangling, and more use this weapon style. The flow of the attack combos looks so smooth on the screen that you can’t help but love them.
  • Swords have speed and effective combos. Great if your fighting style is to get in, land a few good hits and get out. Some characters that use a sword for their battles are Keqing, Xingqiu, and Bennett.
  • Bows. Shooting arrows to keep your distance and hitting variable areas is a great way to fight. A few characters that use bows are Gorou, Diona, and Amber.
  • Claymores are all about that power. Razor, Xinyan, and Arataki Itto are a few characters that take advantage of big swordplay. Their base attack is stronger than other weapons, but they have a slower attack rate. Swinging might take some time to get some speed, but it will clear the way when it does.
  • Catalyst major in elemental damage. You will enjoy using whatever element works best for your character as you show enemies who’s the boss. Mona, Ningguang, and Barbara are a few characters who will use a Catalyst weapon.

Gotta Get ‘Em All

The rarity of the polearm will dictate how hard it is to get one. Polearms start at 1-star and go all the way up to 5-star. You will find your higher-tier weapons on banners that you use wishes to get the chance to get them.

You can find 5-star, 4-star, and 3-star polearm on Wanderlust Invocation and the standard banner. Paimon’s Bargains is another place to find 5-star and 4-star polearms. Blacksmiths can also make 4-stars if you have the right materials.

Unlike higher rarity polearms, the lower weapons are easier to find. Many chests will have your 3-star and 2-star polearm. NPCs, shops, and new characters joining the team are other ways to get lower-level weapons. Sometimes events, Battle Pass, mail, Stellar Reunion, and some genshin quests will give you weapons.

Stat Bonuses

Secondary and passive stat bonuses are added to polearms to add that extra kick. You will get a bonus for your ATK, DEF, HP, Crit rate, Crit damage, elemental mastery, energy recharge, and physical damage. 3-stars or higher are the only ones that have this advantage.

Passive bonuses will boost the character or the rest of the team by adding buffs. It will increase HP, ATK base, and more. To enhance your passive bonuses, you will need to refine your weapon.

Refining is like evolving your weapon to a stronger one. You will take duplicate weapons and use the refine button under the enhanced screen.

FAQ

Question: What is the Strongest Polearm in Genshin Impact?

Answer: That does depend largely on which character you are playing, but the Staff of Homa is considered by many to be the strongest polearm in the game. The rarity is a 5-star, and it’s understandable when you see it in action. This weapon’s bonus for crit damage is one of the greatest in the game.

Question: What is the Best Polearm User in Genshin Impact?

Answer: Personally, I think Zhongli is the best polearm user in the game. He has a Jade Shield with a 100% uptime and moves combos that are so dominating. Enemy groups can’t lay a finger on the team when Zhongli is around. But of course, the “best” of any character is largely up to your personal preference!

Question: Does Genshin Impact have a manga?

Answer: Yes. It has a manga that dives into the past of some of the characters. You will find the stories on Webtoon and the Genshin Impact website. The manga is published in many languages and is worth the read.
