Favonius Sword Guide

Favonius Sword Guide

Genshin Impact is an open-world RPG game featuring in-game collectibles and a vast exploration world. Players can collect weapons, materials, and items in the overworld.

However, they come in different rarities and offer unique passives. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming for players to decide which weapon to equip. I’ve been playing the game since launch, and to this day, I think about various combinations of using a weapon. Now, game mechanics need you to use teams that have synergy with their weapons.

So, it becomes essential to equip only the best option available in your inventory. In this Favonius Sword guide, I’ll be going over one such weapon in-game that you can use to fill energy recharge requirements. The Favonius sword is one such weapon that can help you counter energy deficiency and release your burst more often.

Favonius Sword: Weapon Details

Favonius Sword is a standard-issue longsword of Knights of Favonius. Describing it as an agile and sharp weapon, when you’re armed with this sword, channeling the power of elements has never been so easy!

Favonius sword is a good weapon that helps manage energy recharge requirements. It’s suitable for characters with high burst costs and acts as a battery. You can also funnel energy particles and keep your rotation going. This will help you maintain constant damage and flexible rotation.

With enough energy recharge on your characters, you can have 100% uptime on bursts. That becomes important for the Spiral abyss because you have to damage enemies to clear on time consistently. So, indeed energy recharge can be called an end-game stat to have on your characters.

Let’s go over its details first and see what else we can learn about it.

Weapon Details:

favonius sword

  • Rarity: 4-Star
  • Base Attack: 41
  • Secondary Stat: Energy Recharge
  • Secondary Stat Value: 13.3%
  • Passive ability: Windfall
  • Passive ability description: CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small number of elemental particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. It can only occur once every 12s

Alright, let’s go over passive a bit. Passive doesn’t mean you’ll immediately recharge energy; instead, particles will appear. You can collect them on your active character or switch as they arise. So, it’s pretty beneficial if you want to use a character as a battery.

What’s a battery? Battery is a character who helps regenerate energy for other characters. As simple as that. If you’re using a character as the battery, use them as support and funnel particles to them. Most of the time, it’s better to use the same element’s character as a battery and on-field character.

Also, it matters to have some CRIT rate on your character to trigger this passive. So, stack a bit of CRIT, attack a few times, and voila! Sweet, sweet energy particles.

Well, you should know that you can also equip a CRIT DMG goblet if you have enough CRIT rate from artifact substats. So, it depends on your artifact roles whether you should go for CRIT rate or CRIT damage goblet.

To be on the safer side, you can equip CRIT rate, and it’ll work for off-field damage dealers. You can consider swapping it out if you get an excellent CRIT rate substat on artifacts later. So, for now, equip the CRIT rate on the goblet and enjoy those energy particles.

Now, you may be wondering how to get Favonius Sword? Favonius sword belongs to Favonius weapon’s series. Yes, you may notice weapons having the same first name. That means they’re from the same series, but don’t assume they will have the same passive. Passive may be different even if weapons are from same category.

As of Genshin Impact 2.5, the Favonius sword is available in Standard wish, Character Event wishes, and weapon event wishes. If you’re lucky enough, then you may obtain this in early-game. Eventually, everything in Genshin Impact depends on RNG.

Favonius Sword: Stat Progression

favonius sword genshin impact

WEAPON STAT PROGRESSION
Weapon Level Base Attack Energy Recharge (% Increase)
1 41 13.3
20 99 23.6
40 184 34.3
60 293 45.1
80 401 55.9
90 454 61.3

I’ve listed key levels where you can see the weapon’s progress for base attack and passive. You see, at level 90, the Favonius sword gives a ton of energy recharge. Combine this with energy particles, and your burst is back! Favonius sword shines when it comes to energy recharge.

So, when you’re using this sword, you don’t have to worry about being low on energy. Most of the time, your burst would be back before the cooldown resets. So, be assured that your rotation will be smoother than butter itself!

REFINEMENT RANK PROGRESSION
Refinement Rank % Chance to generate energy Time to Occur (Cooldown) s
1 60 12
2 70 10.5
3 80 9
4 90 7.5
5 100 6

Now, refinements are indeed significant when it comes to weapons. Why so? Because refining eventually makes your weapon stronger. Refinements affect the weapon’s passive and boost the overall damage potential of the character. In the case of the Favonius sword, you can see the time for passive proc reduces with each refinement.

This is good for characters you want to use as a battery and keep better uptime on rotation. Sometimes, even one mistake disturbs the whole team rotation. And when it comes to Spiral abyss, one mistake in rotation can cost you restarting a chamber. So, be stress-free when using this weapon and spam your character bursts.

Favonius Sword: Ascension Material

favonius sword genshin impact

If you obtain a Favonius sword and don’t have enough materials, you need to get them in the overworld. I know it can be boring sometimes, but it’s considered a long-term investment.

Genshin Impact focuses on farming different in-game materials, whether for weapons or characters. So, any weapon you have, you’ll have to dedicate some time to farm for their resources. Alright, let’s go over the materials you need for ascending the Favonius sword.

ASCENSION MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS
Tile of Decarabian’s Tower = 3 Heavy Horn = 15 Firm Arrowhead = 10
Debris of Decarabian’s City = 9 Black Bronze Horn = 18 Sharp Arrowhead = 15
Fragment of Decarabian’s Epic = 9 Black Crystal Horn = 27 Weathered Arrowhead = 18
Scattered Piece of Decarabian’s Dream = 4 Total Mora Required for Ascension = 150,000

That was for ascension material, but what about leveling up a weapon? Well, you need around 600+ mystic enhancement ores and around 700k+ mora. All this mora and ores to level up a 4-star weapon to level 90. So, yeah, that’s a lot of resources, and you may have to spend a few days farming.

I’ll recommend you to do your daily commissions, expeditions, and farm ores here and there. Most of the time, whenever I’m going out, I collect whatever ores I can find. Do you want an easy way out? I got you covered.

Here’s a tip. You can mark locations on your map, and if your commission is near that area, take a detour and collect those shiny ores!

This way, you’ll be restocking your inventory and avoid running low on resources in the future. However, it’s better to take things slow than burn out. Sometimes, burnout is real, and it’s better if you’re taking things casually.

So, take a break once in a while and co-op with friends to farm. That way, collecting the materials you need won’t become boring.

Favonius Sword: Characters

Kamisato Ayaka favonius sword

I love to discuss characters and weapons that I can use on them. Researching about weapons, artifacts and rotations are so fun for Genshin. I’m sure even you go to youtube and search for the best weapon for your favorite character. It’s part of the process, isn’t it? We all want good damage on our characters and equip only the best on them.

Let’s come back to Favonius sword now. I’ll remark on how good Favonius sword is on sword characters. But, keep in mind these are just general remarks from my end. I’m sharing my approach to character building in my teams to help you make a better decision.

As of writing this guide, Genshin Impact 2.5 has the following characters that can use Favonius Sword:

Kamisato Ayaka

Ayaka is a 5-star cryo character who can act as a primary damage dealer and has insane burst damage. Her burst is a nightmare for enemies who are standing in her way. She’s very good with Blizzard strayer artifacts and may lack energy recharge.

But that’s where supports come in to help her. So, I’ll advise you to support her instead and use the Favonius sword on that character. Instead, you’re better off using a weapon with a secondary offensive stat like ATK% CRIT% on her.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Amenoma Kageuchi, The Black sword, The Blackcliff longsword

Kaeya

kaey genshin

Cavalry captain kaeya! I love his eyepatch and his introduction in the game’s beginning. He is a 4-star cryo character that you get in starting of the game. Now, Kaeya already has Energy recharge as his ascension stat and low cooldown on his skill.

I don’t think you’ll suffer from less energy recharge on him. He’s excellent as an off-field damage dealer or a battery for other characters. Favonius sword is good on him if you want to use him as a battery. However, for other roles, better to use different weapons.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire, Lion’s Roar

Albedo

Albedo Genshin

Albedo is a 5-star geo character who shines in off-field damage dealing role. Trust me; he’s got the style with those petals. The best thing about building him is putting DEF% artifacts to good use. His abilities scale off DEF%, which makes him easier to build. Now, I don’t think his burst provides much more value than his skill.

So, it’s better to use a weapon that focuses on increasing skill damage. Otherwise, energy recharge is your backup option.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Cinnabar Spindle, Festering Desire, Harbinger of Dawn

Kaedehara Kazuha

Kaedehara Kazuha

Kazuha is a 5-star anemo character who’s extremely good at supporting the team. He can benefit from RES shred, elemental damage bonus, and crowd control simultaneously. Trust me; he’s one of the best support in this game!

Now, his abilities focus on building elemental mastery, and it’s better if you can manage energy recharge from substats. In the end, it depends on you whether you want an elemental damage bonus or burst spam.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Iron Sting, Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire

Xingqiu

Xingqiu genshin

Most teams use Xingqiu as an off-field damage dealer because he’s just super good at it. A 4-star hydro off-field damage dealer can significantly increase your chance of clearing the spiral abyss. The only thing that needs to be balanced on him is Energy recharge.

And Favonius Sword can work flawlessly on him. One of his best artifact sets, Emblem of severed fate, benefits from overall energy recharge. That means building extra energy recharge will benefit you indeed.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire, Black sword

Bennett

bennett genshin impact

Won’t lie; I can relate my wishing session with his luck. Bennett is a 4-star pyro character who specializes in providing team support. You want healing, ATK boost, and self-cleanse; he’s your guy. If you’re playing him as support, building energy recharge on him is essential.

You don’t want downtime on his burst when your characters need healing. So, go for it. Favonius sword is a decent choice for him and will help you perform rotations efficiently.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire, The Alley Flash

Jean

Jean genshin

Favonius sword is just too good on supports. It’s easier to spam bursts more often because it gives a ton of energy recharge. Jean is a 5-star anemo user specializing in healing the team and shred elemental resistance with Venerer artifacts.

Just like buy one get one free deal, don’t miss it! Her burst can heal all party members, which depends on her ATK%. So, you can quickly go with offensive stats and decent energy recharge in battle.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire, Amenoma Kageuchi

Qiqi

How should I pronounce it, chichi or kiki? Well, it doesn’t matter if you love playing her as a healer. She’s a 5-star cryo character who specializes in healing your team members.

Her abilities scale off ATK%, which means you can build offensive stats on her artifacts like Jean. Voila! She can deal damage to enemies and heal your team simultaneously.

However, her burst is like an AOE cryo blast that may not fill DPS loss. So, most of the time, you’ll be swapping to her, healing your team, and back to the rotation. Energy recharge can help you maintain her ultimate, which costs 80 energy. So, building energy recharge on her won’t hurt you.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Sacrificial Sword, Festering Desire, Amenoma Kageuchi

Keqing

Keqing genshin

Keqing is a 5-star electro character who’s versatile in her gameplay. You can play her as a physical damage dealer, burst damage dealer, or primary electro damage dealer. If we talk about energy recharge on her. I don’t think you need to build that on her. Why? Because her ult cost is already one among lowest in-game,40 energy.

Even if you have some excellent substat roll-on energy recharge in artifacts, that’s more than enough for her. It would be best to build offensive stats like ATK%, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG on her.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Amenoma Kageuchi, Black Sword, Lion’s roar

Traveler

Traveler genshin

When it comes to building travelers, it depends on their element. So far, we have three versions of Traveler, and all three versions have different kits and constellations. I’ll focus on using energy recharge on them to keep it simple.

Electro Traveler is better for the battery role, and you can build energy recharge to get burst back in time. The same goes for Geo Traveler, where you can benefit from constellations and off-field damage from bursts.

Coming to Anemo Traveler, you can use their burst to group lightweight enemies and apply elemental resistance shreds. Anemo element is super good because of Venerer artifacts, helping shred elemental resistance.

  • 4-star weapon alternatives: Festering Desire, Amenoma Kageuchi, Sacrificial Sword

Final Thoughts on Characters

I recommend you experiment with characters and see which weapons are best for your characters. I build energy recharge on my characters for spamming their burst in team rotations most of the time.

Because if you’re in the abyss and you’re out of energy on burst, you may have to restart a chamber. So, I keep decent energy recharge on supports, use their burst, and switch back to the primary damage dealer.

A good example can be characters like Jean and Bennett. Both of them are good healers, and they can help your team survive in critical situations.

Those were some remarks from my end on how Favonius sword suits those characters. Keep on learning and optimizing your team rotations!

FAQs: Favonius Sword

Let’s go over a few questions which you may have after reading this guide. If you’re a beginner, they may be helpful to clear some of your doubts.

Question: Is Energy Recharge a Critical Stat?

Answer: Yes, indeed it is. When it comes to clearing end-game content like Spiral Abyss, Energy recharge is quite essential. Energy recharge helps to get your character’s burst back more often.

And that way, you’re able to perform optimal rotations. I’ll recommend you to have a balance on Energy recharge and optimal CRIT ratios. That way, whenever you need that quick Jean burst, you’ll be able to heal your team members on time.

Energy recharge is more beneficial for healing characters. Sometimes, enemies deal a lot of damage, like that Maguu Kenki. Trust me, he one-shotted my Zhongli one time.

So, whenever your characters are low on HP, you can use healers’ bursts to refill their health back. One secret tip, you don’t take damage in your burst iframe. Shhh! That’s how I survive critical enemy hits.

Question: Should I Refine Favonius Sword?

Answer: Unless you’re a constant spender on this game, you should have multiple copies. It may be possible you need a character in the abyss with decent energy recharge, and you run out of weapon options. If you have a spare copy of Favonius sword, you can equip that and jump into battle.

Refining is a good choice indeed, but make sure your other sword characters have suitable weapons. That way, you’ll be able to proc passive often and receive energy particles. Yum Yum

Question: Should I Wish to Get More Refinements of Favonius Sword?

Answer: It depends on how much you’re willing to spend on the game. If you’re a free-to-play player, I won’t recommend you wish more than you can afford.

Even if you’re a light spender, wishing on the weapon’s banner requires a lot of fates because of its pity system. So, if you have 2-3 copies of Favonius Sword, don’t refine them. Level them up separately if you want to use them on different characters.

That way, you’ll have versatile weapons choices on different teams and don’t have to share weapons. I mean, if you’re in Spiral abyss and the other team needs a sword weapon with decent energy recharge, you better have 2 Favonius swords.

Closing Remarks

Sometimes, it may be overwhelming to choose the best weapon for your characters. But here’s the thing I’ll say from my experience, weapons depend on team comp. When building your team, you have to manage stats on your characters and their rotation. Characters may have the same weapon in one team composition but different in another.

Favonius sword is one such weapon that shines in, giving decent energy recharge and helping characters use their burst more often. So, if you’re looking for a weapon to equip on a character you want to use as a battery, the Favonius sword is your pick! However, there’s also one thing I’d like to say if you’re going to compare two weapons.

Try to compare their passives and see what they can offer to your team rotation most of the time. That way, it’ll be simpler for you to decide the best weapon for your character. You should also check out other guides on-site and see you may find other guides which interest you! I wish you luck on your Genshin journey.
